HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY! 5 IDEAS TO CELEBRATE AT HOME
Let’s celebrate Children’s Day this April 25 as they deserve it! Children complete more than a year at home; a time without parks, without games with friends, without celebrations or walks. At DoctorAkí we tell you the importance of this day and we compile several ideas to celebrate at home with the whole family.
The day the child is held in Colombia each year on the last Saturday of April. This date was institutionalized in 2001, through Law 724 of December 27. On this day, activities are carried out that seek to promote the well-being and rights of children, especially the right to play, essential to promote their integral development.
The ideas that we propose are based on the game, since with the game three great learning networks are activated in the brain: the recognition and attention network, the strategy network and the affective network, according to the Cognition Research Group and Language in Childhood from the National University, and the Game and Childhood Corporation.
Some games or activities are simple and can be done with what is at home; others are ways of recognizing, respecting and loving children, through nurturing and loving education.
IDEAS TO CELEBRATE CHILDREN’S DAY AT HOME
VIRTUAL SURPRISE PARTY
Invite family and friends to a virtual session. Agree with the parents of your children’s friends, your family, grandparents, aunts, cousins and others, so that they connect at the same time and can greet all the children in the family.
To set the scene you can place decoration made of paper, crafts and prepare a cake or the children’s favorite dessert.
COSTUME GAME, ON CHILDREN’S DAY
Tell your child to put on his favorite costume and his eyes are sure to light up. For them it is absolute happiness to be able to play to be a superhero, doctor, firefighter, princess, dinosaur, unicorn, in short.
If you don’t have a costume, you can put together an original one with whatever you have at home, be it old clothes, typical costumes, or carnival costumes. After everyone is dressed up they can put together a parade, a contest or a play, remember the imagination has no limits.
POOL DAY AT HOME

The children will look for each object following clues such as “there is a very ferocious animal in a place with many plants”, “there is a musical instrument that will sound in the place where we bathe”, and so on. With this activity, in addition to having fun, they will also learn.
CAMPING NIGHT
